Elbert County is where you want to be to celebrate Memorial Day in 2024.
Mad Gravel continues to expand its 3-day cycling dirt festival. To kick the weekend off and get the gravel ready, you trail-runners will enjoy a great 10K taking in all that the scenic Scout Ranch has to offer. Now the wheels come out. The MG Gravel Circuit is turning into a fan favorite where racers navigate a 7 mile circuit course all on private land! The weekend doesn’t exist without our premier event, The Hemi. Along with the Hemi Five-O and the Hemi Hustle, you’ll enjoy one of the most challenging gravel bike races on the calendar as you explore the amazing gravel roads throughout Elbert County. The three course options deliver you epic terrain, punchy climbs, quick descents, wide open spaces, and will take you back to remote and beautiful country in the Colorado Front Range. Get your team stoke on for Monday’s MG REVOLVR, an 8 hour relay race on a specially designed course that maximizes the gravel experience. Bring your BBQ’s and team spirit. This is new for 2024 and a gravel racing first!
Located south of Kiowa, Colorado, come enjoy the amazing views and high peaks of the Colorado front range. Bring the family, camp, and join us for nightly activities, live music, daily award ceremonies, cycling tours and kids events. One other thing, you don’t have to get caught in the masses of folks heading west to the mountains over a busy holiday weekend!
At a hefty 50 miles, Hemi Five-O is slightly less sadistic than its parent. Plenty of mileage while still enjoying an epic tour of the eastern plains. Prepare yourself for some awe-inspiring moments while you take in a great panorama of Colorado’s high peaks. Pikes Peak alone is stunning in late spring with its snow-capped summit. Fully supported with an aid station in the middle so you can pack light.
100 miles of pure bliss. The Hemi will cover over 6400 feet of climbing while topping out at 7300 ft. This course is a perfect blend of all the killer gravel roads in Elbert County. While you’ll get wide open power sections, expect some climbing that will test the legs over this distance. Wind in May east of the Colorado front range? Yeah it’s likely. 3 aid stations to serve your hydration and nutritional needs.
At 30 miles, the Hemi Hustle is the best route for those that want a great sampling of the region while still enjoying the unique roads and views of Elbert County. On 100% gravel roads, this amazing course delivers the Hemi experience in a condensed form. While you get a custom number plate, it is not a competitive event. This is the shortest route, but know you still will conquer a very challenging course.
Fan Favorite. Peaceful Valley offers up so much great terrain, so a gravel circuit race is a must. Each lap is roughly 7 miles and will explore the entire scout ranch. Will there be gravel road? Yes. Will there be double-track road? Yes. Will there be single-track? Uh…yes, smooth and buttery. Will there be any asphalt? Nada. You gotta try this one!
A first in the gravel world – an 8 hour relay race! Get your team together for an epic day of gravel racing on a closed course in the Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch. Teams can consist of Solo, 2, 3, 4 or 5+ person teams. This is a great way to cap off the weekend and get plenty of racing in. Bring the grill, cornhole and Memorial Day games and enjoy a peaceful day away from the madness of the city. This is where you want to be!
Utilizing some of the MG Circuit race, we’ve put together a super fun and unique 11K Trail Run, all starting and finishing in front of the dining hall. A nice mix of roads, double track and some single track will keep things interesting. This is also a great option for those mixed discipline families.
