At 50 miles, The Hemi Five-O will test your legs with over 3000 feet of climbing. Starting at the McNeil Ranch at Peaceful Valley, The Hemi Five-O starts out with a fun double track road leading out of the Ranch for about 2 miles before entering the serene gravel roads of Elbert County. This 50 mile course will give you a great tour of the amazing gravel roads on the west side of the venue. The views out here are amazing with some of the best panoramas of the Colorado front range. Bring your camera. Well, maybe don’t! There is one aid station out on course where you can refuel with a variety of food and drink, and say hi to some gracious volunteers. While you’ll get wide open power sections, expect some climbing that will test the legs over this distance. Wind in May east of the Colorado front range? For sure. But you won’t even notice because you’ll be in a full state of bliss.
